Terms of Service
Last updated July 2026
Agreement
These terms cover your use of Shimmer — the website, app, and the Telegram bot when you link it. By using Shimmer you agree to them. We've kept the language plain on purpose.
Early access
Shimmer is in early access and free during this period. That means it's still evolving: features may change, break, or move, and things can go down for maintenance. We'll do our best to keep your data safe, but you shouldn't rely on Shimmer as your only record.
Not medical advice
Shimmer estimates nutrition and surfaces patterns from what you log. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nutrition estimates are approximate. Always talk to a qualified professional about your health, and never ignore or delay medical advice because of something Shimmer told you.
Professionals who use Shimmer to follow patients do so in a read-only, supportive capacity; Shimmer is a window into a patient's journal, not a clinical system of record.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping access to your sign-in email secure and for the activity on your account. Tell us if you think someone else has gained access. You must be old enough to consent to this kind of service where you live.
Acceptable use
- Use Shimmer only for your own journaling, or a patient's with their consent.
- Don't try to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Don't use Shimmer to harm others or to break the law.
Your data & content
Your journal is yours. You grant us only the permission we need to store it and run Shimmer for you. How we handle it is described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your data and delete your account — and its journal — yourself from Settings at any time.
Availability & changes
We may add, change, or remove features, and we may update these terms as Shimmer matures; we'll update the date at the top when we do. If a change is significant, we'll try to give reasonable notice. Continuing to use Shimmer after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Liability
Shimmer is provided “as is” during early access, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits rights you have that can't be limited by law.
Ending
You can stop using Shimmer and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or if we need to protect the service or its users.
